Scouts

The Scout Section is for young people
aged 10 to 14. Leaders in this Section offer more adventurous
activities, putting the "out" into Scouting. At the same time, the young
people begin to take more responsibility for their own activities. For
much of the time, they work in Patrols, but other groupings are used to
meet differing interests and needs. The Scout Troop programme includes camping both in the District and
further afield; and participation in District, County, and -
occasionally - international events. The formal side of the Scout
programme is built round a range of progressive challenges, with the
ultimate goal being the Chief Scout's Gold Award.
